Columbia alumi/ae may be able to use resources from other law schools' career offices to aid in their job searches. To request reciprocity from another law school, please review the policy of that school by clicking here, and contact Anna Colliton at acolli@law.columbia.edu.
Reciprocity Policy
It is the policy of Columbia Law School to make available the facilities and services of its Career Services Office to graduates of other law schools, with the exception of those within the greater New York City area, provided that their law schools provide similar reciprocity privileges to Columbia Law School graduates. It is requested that graduates of other law schools wishing to utilize the Columbia Law School Career Services facilities present, at least two weeks in advance of a visit, a letter of introduction from the Career Services Director of their law school.
Graduates from other graduate programs at Columbia University may be granted reciprocity on an as-requested basis. The director of the program should contact the law school career services office in order to make the appropriate arrangements for use of the resource library and counseling assistance as is possible to provide due to time constraints.
Columbia
Law
School students and graduates have first priority in the use of the facilities of the Columbia Law School Office of Career Services. Assistance to non-Columbia Law graduates will be scheduled at times that do not interfere with the needs of Columbia Law students. Reciprocity services are limited to access to the Career Resource Library, and to a period of not more than 90 days per request. Reciprocity services do not include On-Campus Interviewing or counseling sessions.
Reciprocity is not available from August 1 through December 15 due to the pressures of the on-campus interviewing season. All graduates who have been granted reciprocity must first call the Office of Career Services at (212)854-5672/2684 before arriving to ensure access to the resource library.
We reserve the right to modify our Reciprocity Policy at any time, without advance notice.
Requests for reciprocity may be directed to:
